If you're a woman interested in running in the upcoming municipal election, or are interested in helping out on a campaign, this is the event for you.

Join for a panel discussion that will help you with the upcming eleciton. Former female candidates, a campaign manager, and a representative from the City of Edmonton's Office of the City Clerk will share valuable insights gained on the campaign trail. They will give practical answers on how to:

• understand campaign legislation and rules, including the recent changes
• budget for and finance a campaign
• build and sustain a campaign team
•  work effectively with media

Participants will have the chance to chat directly with panel members following the presentation.

“Be Her or Support Her” is an Equal Voice campaign created to galvanize women into seeking elected office, or volunteering on a woman’s campaign. In June 2008, the results from a national public opinion poll conducted by Environics Research Group showed that 85% of Canadians support “efforts to increase the number of women elected in this country”. Through “Be Her or Support Her” events and its on-line campaign school for women, “Getting to the Gate”, Equal Voice continues to present practical strategies for achieving this goal.
